Humanists from the Nonviolence movement staged several protests against the planned deployment of US troops on Czech soil as part of the \u201cStar Wars\u201d plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Already yesterday activists had displayed a banner on one of Prague\u2019s bridges. Today, events included the march of \u201cThe Invisibles\u201d through the city and a human-made message \u201cNo Star Wars\u201d body-painted on several male and female activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Invisibles are more than 70% of the Czech population who do not want the military radar base. The Invisibles are the 99% of the worldwide population that does not want wars and aspires to peace,&#8221; said Jan Tamas, spokesman of the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Invisibles \u2013 people dressed in white with white masks \u2013 then marched through the city to the Congress Centre where the EU-US summit was taking place. However, riot police blocked their path to the Congress Centre and refused to allow a closer approach. \u201cIt is the first time since the fall of the communist regime that peaceful citizens have been denied the right to protest policies they disagree with,\u201d commented Tamas. \u201cThe police are denying us our civil liberties while justifying it with \u2018security reasons\u2019.
